We decided to go check out the Flathead Lake area in Montana. What an amazing place.
The first ride was near Whitefish, at Spencer Mountain. The trails there were an incredible surprise. Insanely high quality trail system with a high level of difficulty.
There is a perfect combination of amazing terrain, a great uptrack, perfect dirt quality and terrific design and construction.
On top of the great riding experience, the trail system here has all those extra details…a helipad, emergency rescue points, maps and signage everywhere, good parking and a trail kiosk with a bear-proof garbage canister. All the stunts are built 100% solid with good wood and solid fasteners…no detail overlooked. Of course, none of that helped me take that 10-foot drop off the rock shard to berm landing…
In fact, the one thing this place needs is a progression trail…it’s either a green run, or your choice of black or double-black. Ever hear of a blue run? Not here.
We had the place almost all to ourselves. Lucky again!
